5th International Evidence Based Library & Information Practice Conference

Sweden, and the Karolinska Institutet University Library, invites you to the 5^th Evidence Based Library and Information Practice Conference, in Stockholm, Sweden, June 29^th – July 3^rd 2009.

As library practitioners and academics, we constantly face the challenge to establish the effectiveness of the services we design, the services we advocate, the services we provide.

Whether this challenge occurs within a climate of expansion, of reaffirmation or of survival we have a professional responsibility to demonstrate to our users, our managers, our colleagues and our other stakeholders that we remain in touch with the evidence base for library and information practice.

Just a few notes about the conference coming up this week:

Extended deadline for poster submissions

The organisers of the confrence are very pleased with the number of submissions for paper and poster presentations, but would nevertheless like to encourage more poster presentations. The deadline for poster submissions is now February 15th. You will find more information in the Call for papers.

Welcome with your submission!

Submission of poster abstracts still open!

The submission of papers for oral presentation is now closed, but if you're considering submitting a poster abstract you have until January 8th 2009. Please see Call for papers for more information about how to submit a poster presentation.

The review process of papers has started and notification of acceptance will be sent to the authors by January 31st 2009.

Five key note speakers

We're very happy to announce that Jonathan Eldredge (USA), Anita Mirijamdotter (Sweden), Sue McKnight (UK), Birgitta Olander (Sweden) and Ola Pilerot (Sweden) has accepted our invitation to present key note speeches next summer.
